Not sure where the person went that said this was in a shady part of town, but it is not. It is located at a busy intersection and easy to find. It is a nice store with a large selection and the staff is always helpful.
The prices for their products are a little bit higher than most other craft stores. However, they do have a weekly coupon you can use for 40% off of one item. This is about the only time I go in there.
